This University of Strathclyde and the UK Safety and Reliability Society - the professional body for Safety and Reliability Engineers - have come together to bring ESREL2016 to Glasgow from 25th to 29th September.
ESREL2016 brings together researchers and practitioners in safety, reliability, risk and asset managment to look at new approaches to dealing with challenges faced across all industry sectors. Alongside "traditional" sectors like oil and gas, nuclear, and aerospace, we'll have a representatives from newer application areas such as health, project management and technology innovation.
Alan Aitken, Head of Process Safety, and Ian Travers; Prinicpal Consultant for Process safety will be presenting at the event on Managing Major Hazard Insutry Risk.
Alan Aitken leads the Lockheed Martin Process Safety team, and has over 14 years' experience in successful consultancy, programme management and system integration engagements and has an excellent understanding between business objectives, processes and IT systems. Ian Travers; recently retired from the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as Deputy Director, Chemical Regulation, has 25 years' experience in regulation of chemical and major hazard industries and in the investigation of major incidents to discover the underlying causes.
